Age 74, of Prescott, WI, passed away at home after a short illness surrounded by his loving family on Sunday, January 31, 2010.

  He was born on October 4, 1935 in Mankato, MN, son of Paul and Lucille (Strzelecki) Gumbusky.  James married Renee Lord in 1960 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Faribault, MN.  Jim worked 40 years as a Chemical Engineer at 3M until his retirement and then came out of retirement to work at Phillips Plastics in Prescott.  At one time Jim enjoyed hunting and fishing.  He loved corvettes and sports car racing, along with going downhill skiing.  He will be missed by his many friends and family members.

James is survived by his wife, Renee; three sons:  Steven (Robin), Jeff and Charlie Gumbusky; loving dog Maddy; two brothers:  Martin and Robert (Mary) Gumbusky; three sisters:  Lorraine Hanson, Katherine Bailey and Jeanne Hadley; and further survived by many extended family members.  He was preceded in death by a brother, Paul; a sister, Genevieve; and two beloved pets:  Hannah and Tucker.

Memorials may be sent in Jim’s name to the University of Minnesota Ophthalmology Department and Animal Ark of Hastings.
